We took the girls to the circus today. When I was a kid, the circus came to town every year around my little sister's birthday. So we always went to the circus for Nina's birthday.
I was thinking back today, and I cannot remember ever having gone to the circus since then, though I'm pretty sure I must have. I do remember that the anticipation every year when we knew the circus was coming to town was almost too much to bear. I swear it was better than the night before Christmas!
When each of the girls was born, I made sure to send off to Ringling Bros. for their free circus ticket certificate. When Miss D was just over a year old and I was pregnant with the twins, we went down to see the elephant parade. But until this year I figured the girls were all still too little to enjoy the circus.
Anyway, Daddy-J brought home some tickets and we decided to take the girls today. They all really enjoyed it. M-Moo was totally enthralled and didn't want to talk to anyone because she was busy paying attention. K-Wiggles loved all the animals, of course. And Miss D was just amazed by all the magic tricks. She couldn't believe they sawed someone in half and turned another guy into a tiger!
I don't know if we will go every year like I did when I was a kid, but it sure was a magical day today!
