Fun boating weekend.

We had a fantastic July weekend on the boat last Saturday and Sunday. The girls are getting to be such good swimmers that they all spent a lot of time in the water (ok, M&K spent a lot of time in the water).

But anyway, M-Moo and K-Wiggles were having so much fun in the water, we decided to get out the kid water ski we bought a gazillion years ago. Amazingly, they both did it! The videos below show them both skiing with daddy hanging off the back, but they later went on to do it all by themselves!







They are champions! (Miss-D, on the other hand, may never get in the water again... but I bought her a wetsuit to see if that helps at all!).

Karate Promotion

Miss D attended Karate camp all last week. I think she liked it (a lot!) because she asked me to cancel her soccer camp later this summer so she could do another week of Karate camp! Anyway, this video shows her performing her orange belt form (which I know the name of, but have no idea how to spell!). She looks pretty sharp, huh?!

Finishing touches, decorating M&K's room.

About two years ago, I picked out bedding for M&K, right about the time they got their "big girl" beds. Quite a few months ago, my mom and I painted their room to go with their bedding. Yesterday I finally put up most of the "finishing touches" to their decorations. There are still a few things left to do (valances for their windows, painting the headboard that step-dad made for them), but it's pretty close to done. So I thought I should share some pictures!

4th of July -- Parade Edition!

The girls all rode the Bobby Lawrence Karate float in the 4th of July parade this year. I marched behind, helping some of the older kids to keep from killing each other (kids with nunchuks marching behind little kids doing kicks -- bad combo!). It was a lot of fun. Daddy-J caught up with us about half-way through and took some pics!

4th of July Fun!

We had a lot of fun this weekend! We stayed at The Canyons Saturday night so as to be there for the festivities. After swimming in the crazy crowded pool all afternoon, we headed out to the forum to a concert by the Disco Drippers. It was a bit chilly, but the music and dancing were definitely fun!



There was a really pretty sunset, but this was the best picture I got from where we were sitting.



The girls really enjoyed the kettle corn!




And the fireworks were great!




We were tired when we got back to our room after 10:00 p.m., and everyone crashed to get some sleep for the next big adventure on Sunday: the parade!
