Yep, that's been me lately. Well, only when it comes to this blog, actually. I've gotten quite a bit done around the house in the past week or so, but between taking the girls to school, getting some work done, doing stuff around the house, and picking the girls up from school... well, I haven't made it to the store to get the stupid adapter for my SD card so I can upload the last 6 weeks' worth of photos.
And for some reason, without photos, I just don't feel like blogging. In my head, blogging goes with photos. I have about 50 posts lined up in my head, to show you all about Daddy-J's and my trip to the Big Apple to see the U.S. Open tennis tournament, some fun stuff I've done with the girls, some random shots of our home life, and Daddy-J's and my trip back to NY (upstate this time) and my old stomping grounds in Connecticut.
But without that darned adapter, I just don't feel like posting about any of it.
So I hereby promise that tomorrow (Monday), I will take the card and my USB card reader to Staples after I drop the girls off at school and buy the adapter that makes the two things work together. (Of course, you know this means that Staples won't actually carry the adapter I need... but that's another post, right?).

Princess Day
Sorry for the massive delay in posting. On our trip to New York City, I lost the adapter for my camera's memory card, so I can't upload any pictures. I've been very VERY slow about getting to the store to get a new one (maybe hoping the old one would turn up?!). I will get it, I promise. Daddy-J and I are actually off to NY again tomorrow morning, this time upstate.
By the time I get back, I will get a new card adapter and start posting again. Until then, I have a couple of pictures from a Princess Day that Miss D and I did with our friends Kerry and Emma.
The story is, Daddy-J got his hair cut at the local Paul Mitchell hair and beauty school last week (on the recommendation of one of his employees). While he was there, he noticed a flier for Princess Day and thought that Mama, Miss D, and Kerry and Emma might like to do this! The school's "future professionals" were going to do "up-dos" and manicures for the girls, give them a tiara, show princess movies, and take their pictures. Sounds like fun, huh?
So we went and did it. First, we stopped at ToysRUs to get a princess costume. Miss D chose a Barbie Mariposa costume -- actually pretty cute, all pink and black with butterfly wings. Then we bought a six-pack of dressup shoes and a necklace/ring/bracelet combo. We were loaded for bear! Miss D seemed to enjoy watching the princess movie while they curled her hair. She got very excited to tell the manicurist what color she wanted for her nails ("light pink"). Then we got to the photos...
Little miss funny face didn't want to give us a real smile. Stinker!
We got this shot with me standing behind Kerry making all kinds of funny faces and threatening to walk in there and tickle them both! At least we got genuine smiles, even if they were looking at me instead of the camera. Double stinkers.
This was the official photo they took, along with the beautiful decorated frame that Miss D made for it.

Go Butterflies!
Miss D had her first genuine soccer game today. 8 four-year-olds on one field is a sight to behold, let me tell you! After a rocky start (our 4 girls stood on the field and watched the other team kick the ball right by them without so much as moving) their coach got them into the swing of things and they wound up winning by 5 goals to 2!
Our girls ran really hard, played nicely, and listened well to their coach. I love this format they use for the littles... 4 on 4 on a small field with one coach from each team on the field with them to help them figure out how to play the game.
Miss D was so excited to play. After the first couple of goals, she got the idea and started jumping up and down and cheering each time the Butterflies scored. One poor little girl on our team got a little upset when the coach told her to take the ball away from a girl on the other team -- she came off the field and told her mama that it wasn't nice to take things away! I guess 4 years of telling them to be nice and share and take turns makes it confusing for them when they get on the soccer field! LOL!
Miss D did not score a goal this time, though she wants to. She did get to do one throw-in and she got the ball a few times and advanced it down the field in the right direction. The girls look like a good strong team, and more importantly they had a blast out there!
M-Moo and K-Wiggles also enjoyed cheering on the team!
